Goudy Leaves PPG’s ARG Division
Garry Goudy, long-time head of PPG’s automotive replacement glass division, became vice president of automotive refinishing on December 1, 2001. The move is the first in what is expected to be a series of moves by glass segment executives into finishes. Corporate development vice president David Sharick has been elected to Goudy’s position. He has a strong accounting background and has held a series of financial positions within the glass area, culminating with being named controller there.

Monty Montgomery, the vice president of ABRA-Tennessee, a division of Minneapolis-based ABRA Auto Glass, has been appointed to serve a one-year term as the district chairman for the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) for the Memphis market. I-CAR is an international, not-for-profit training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair … San Diego-based Mitchell International has appointed Michael K. Noirot to the position of director, national accounts. Noirot will be responsible for sales and account management of Mitchell’s national accounts … Sika Industry of Madison Heights, Mich., has appointed James Connery to the position of industrial group area manager. As area manager, Connery will be responsible for Sika Industrial Group sales in the Northeast area.
Former Glass Specialty CEO Passes Away
Ed Barnes of Bloomington, Ill.-based Glass Specialty died on Thursday, August 9, at Saint Francis Medial Center in Peoria, Ill. Barnes, 61, served as president and chief executive officer of the company. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy; a son, Dan; two daughters, D’Joane and Jennifer; and one brother, Charles.
