Jon P. Vrabely Named Huttig Building Products President and CEO
The board of directors of Huttig Building Products Inc. of St. Louis, Mo., has named Jon P. Vrabely as president and chief executive officer (CEO). He succeeds Michael A. Lupo, who continues as a director and a member of the executive committee of the board. Vrabely, who joined Huttig in 1999, has been vice president, chief operating officer (COO) since November 2005.
Lupo, 74, who has held several executive positions in the building products industry since 1983, has served as a Huttig director since December 2002, and was named Huttig’s president and CEO in April 2003 to affect a turnaround.
Vrabely, 41, was named vice president and COO in November 2005, responsible for all branch sales and operations, as well as corporate national accounts, marketing and product management. Since 1999, he has served in several executive management positions, including vice president of product management from September 2003 to December 2004, and then vice president of operations until being named COO. Prior to joining Huttig, Vrabely held several management positions with WESCO International Inc., a distributor of electrical supplies and apparatus.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from San Diego State University and a Masters in Business Administration in business management from the University of Redlands.
Peter Grandinetti Named VP of Procurement at Silver Line
Silver Line Building Products Corp. of North Brunswick, N.J., announced that Peter Grandinetti has been named the company’s new vice president of procurement. He is responsible for overseeing all of the company’s purchasing operations including all activities for both corporate and their local facilities.
Before joining the company, Grandinetti served as the executive director of purchasing at GAF Building Materials Corp. For nearly five years, he was directly responsible for negotiating the purchase of all capital projects, materials, systems and services for 28 GAF facilities located throughout North America.
Nordson Names New Market Manager
Nordson Corp. of Amherst, Ohio, has appointed Chris Ehrnschwender market manager, powder and liquid, Pacific South Division.
Since joining Nordson in 1977, Ehrnschwender has held various positions in the company’s finishing division, including liquid laboratory manager and liquid technical and training manager. Most recently, he provided product development, marketing and sales support to Nordson offices worldwide, as well as field service/ installation and application engineering support to customers around the world.
In his new role, Ehrnschwender will strengthen the Nordson finishing organization throughout the Pacific Rim as liaison to the U.S. manufacturing, marketing and engineering areas.
Precision Entry Continues Development
Sugarcreek, Ohio-based Precision Entry Inc. and their subsidiary Sugarcreek Industries announced the addition of three key people to support the continual development of the organization.
Brian Baughman has been hired as brand marketing specialist, Andy Iamaio has been named the new sales representative in the Baltimore/ Washington D.C. area and Brian Miller has been hired in newly created position of corporate operations analyst.
Rich Walker Promoted to President and CEO of AAMA
Rich Walker has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), having previously held the position of Executive Vice President, and will direct and oversee all organizational objectives and program operations for the entire association. This realignment was approved during the AAMA National Fall Meeting by the AAMA Board of Directors as recommended by both the Board Executive Compensation and Strategic Planning Committees. One of the key goals of the Strategic Planning Committee is to advance AAMA's already dominant position as the leader in the fenestration industry, and Walker's promotion is part of this effort, according to chairman of the board John Brunett of Simonton in Parkersburg, W.Va., who is charged with providing guidance for and management of high-level strategic initiatives of the association.
“Rich’s 20 years of industry experience and 10 years with AAMA are proof of his tenacity and dedication to the industry. He has executed at a level that gives the AAMA Board confidence in promoting him to this position, which is better suited to his scope of responsibilities and more clearly represents the activities of the organization,” said
Since joining AAMA, Walker has served as the executive vice president, technical director and Southeast region director.
During his tenure as the executive vice president, Walker spurred AAMA's membership to its current level of more than 400 members; ensured fiscal stability; and promoted quality window, door, curtain wall, storefront and skylight products.
CEO of Royal Mouldings Announces Retirement
Larry Davis, chief executive officer (CEO) of Royal Mouldings of Marion, Va., has announced his retirement. Davis joined Royal Mouldings Inc. in 1969 as an industrial engineer when it was Mouldings Inc. Davis grew with the company for many years serving as plant manager and controller in Harrisburg, Ore., group analyst in Portland, Ore., vice president and general manager in Jacksonville, Fla., and senior vice president in Marion, Va. In 1981, he became president.
Davis was head of the company as it successfully evolved over the years. The products under his direction became the anchor brand of Marley Mouldings later to become Royal Mouldings now having grown to become products that support a multi million dollar company. He was instrumental in the reinvention of the company from a supplier of prefinished finger joint wood mouldings to match wall paneling for the mobile home industry to the leader in branded extruded polymer mouldings and millwork for remodeling and new home construction.
