Construct 2008 is Held in Las Vegas
The architectural glass and metal industry was present, showing its green credentials to attendees. The Tremco booth strongly promoted its involvement in solar and daylighting. Wasco Skylights promoted its nanogel insulation for skylights and its positive effects on daylighting.
Energy efficiency was present in the PPG booth, with its spotlight on low-E glass. The company also gave a seminar that focused on how architects can effectively utilize low-E glass in design.
Security glazing and hurricane-resistant products were also on the minds of attendees. Sheffield Plastics showcased its Makrolon Hygard SD security glazing products.
On the eventís extensive educational program were two sessions specific to the architectural glass and metal industry. Raj Goyal of Graham Architectural Products Corp. discussed the effects of blasts on glazing, while James Bogdan of PPG compared the energy and upfront cost saving potential of common low-E glasses.
Beginning in 2009, the TFM show will co-locate with Construct 2009, scheduled for June 17-19, 2009, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. www.constructshow.com
