Expo Midwest ’13™ Offers
Glass education, networking and more returns to the Chicagoland area in 2013 when Glass Expo Midwest, the leading provider of regional glass education, takes place at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel in Schaumburg, Ill. The two-day event is scheduled for October 31 - November 1, 2013.
Dedicated to providing educational seminars regarding architectural glass general business management to the glass industry in the midwest, the event includes educational sessions, a trade show floor of industry suppliers and networking opportunities. The event is co-sponsored by a number of state associations, the Association of Glazing Contractors, and USGlass, DWM and Window Film magazines.
In addition, the fourth annual Fenestration Day™, hosted by DWM magazine, will be co-located with the event and held October 31.

ASTM to Hold Symposium on Building Walls
According to information from ASTM, the objective of the
symposium is to document both the industry’s and ASTM’s efforts in addressing
water intrusion and accumulation in building walls through standard development.

This year’s event will feature approximately 200 educational sessions and tours, more than 50 networking events and more than 700 exhibitors.
Keynote speakers will include former Secretary of State
General Colin Powell; Blake Mycoskie, TOMS founder and chief shoe giver;
and Cameron Sinclair, co-founder of Architecture for Humanity.
China Glass 2013 Approaches
“China Glass [serves] as a good platform for exhibitors to demonstrate their innovation achievements and [conduct] trade and technical exchanges,” according to event organizers.
More than 190 international companies have signed up to attend the event, coming from 27 countries, including Germany, Italy, the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Japan, Korea, Canada, Russia and India. In addition, for the first time the show will welcome attendees from Brazil, Latvia, Spain, Mexico, Singapore and United Arab Emirates.
The North American pavilion currently has nearly 20 companies signed up to exhibit. The total exhibition area is expected to cover 80,000 square meters and attract about 800 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors.
