According to the company, Hilite blocks more than 99 percent of ultraviolet radiation and 95 percent of infrared heat while not noticeably effecting visible light transmission.
Hilite is optically clear and polyester-based; it is designed to be applied to a room’s interior glass surface. It is available to Bekaert’s exclusive network of independent window film professionals.
Hilite-protected windows can be cleaned and maintained as they normally would and the product has warranty coverage of 12-years to lifetime, according to the manufacturer.
Among the products HanitaTek is expecting to release soon is the Novus™ line of automotive film. The non-dyed, non-metallized films contain solar properties of hybrid films with non-metal construction and color stability, and will be available in VLTs of 07, 13, 23, 33 and 45.
Also on the list for upcoming sales are additions to Hanita Coatings’ Optitune™ line of dual reflective glass films. The new additions will be VLTs of 5 percent and 22 percent, adding to a line that already includes VLTs of 15, 30, 40 and 55 percent. The new Optitune shades are expected to be available in late summer 2005.
The paint protection film is a clear urethane film, eight mils thick and intended to cover portions of the original automotive paintwork, particularly those areas most prone to paint damage, such as the side doors and frontal bodywork.
According to the company, the film is extremely flexible and can be installed easily over larger areas of curved body surfaces, and will not be compromised by standard car washing. The film is high gloss and can be maintained with waxing.
CPFilms warrants the Llumar Paint Protective film against cracking, peeling, bubbling or yellowing for as long as the original purchaser retains ownership of the vehicle.
Novacel 9377 features a 60 µm adhesive film with a polyolefin base. According to the company, the white film protects car bodies against external stresses, such as acid rain, bird droppings, tool marks and scrapes, and shields the car for up to six months in outdoor conditions.
The film can be customized to include a company’s logo or trademark, advertising message or technical information. Personalized elements are printed directly on the film.
Novacel 9377 is supplied in rolls of 650 feet and comes in varying widths from 1 1/5-inch to 110 inches.
The system employs computer techniques that are programmed to drive a cutter to produce a film cut with precise micro-edge fit.
According to the company, the benefits of the program are many. For flat film installations, the system enables micro rounding corners and accurately pre-cut for palladium windows; for safety film the system is labor-saving and provides quality, efficient installations with “accurate precutting of the intrinsically thick film.” The system is also said to compliment the installation of the company’s paint protection film by providing smooth edges and corners for an easy, lay-down during installation.
Minimum requirements for the Llumar Precision Cutting system include: Internet connection, Microsoft Windows 98 and ME (128MB RAM, 2000 or XP (256 MB RAM)); 200 MB free hard disc space; CD-ROM drive and a plotter.
Providing accurate 0.01-micron thickness measurements on transparent objects using a single sensor-head, the Keyence LT-9000 can provide readings on target surfaces that are wet, angled or irregular.
Multiple measurement modes include profile measurement, transparent object thickness measurement, angel measurement and cross-sectional area measurement.
During operation, the LT’s two-micron diameter laser beam is focused on the target surface through an objective lens that vibrates vertically at high speed by means of a tuning fork. The beam continually reflects off the target surface and converges on a pinhole in the sensor head and then enters the light-receiving element. By measuring the exact position of the objective lens when the light enters the light-receiving element, the target height can be precisely determined. The position of the measurement of an object is obtained only when the laser beam is perfectly focused on the object’s surface. According to the company, LT-9000 measurement series’ accuracy is unaffected by the material surface, color, angle, wetness or irregularity.
The Flex-Lip Sheet Die, also designed by Diamond-America, has an adjustable die range from 0 to.125-inches. The lip adjustment is manual and the die is equipped with a restriction bar. The co-extrusion block is designed with an “A-B” configuration.
Going Grey with Greystone
The film has a double- layered construction that, according to the company, is designed to be more durable, last longer and also delivers a unique combination of optical clarity and sophisticated appearance. Also according to the company, Greystone’s non-conductive design will not interfere with electronic systems.
“One of the keys to Greystone’s success is that it shrinks faster than just about any film on the market today” says Dave Read, sales development manager for Johnson. “Greystone helps our dealers save time on installations, which means more money for them in the long run.”
Greystone is available in five different shades: 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 percent, and can be ordered in a standard 30-inch width.
Inject Some Energysa Into Your Cutting
EnerCut 2005 v.2.1, like its predecessor, EnerCut 2004 v 1.0, can be downloaded from the Internet. Once it is installed on a computer, an Internet connection is used again to access the database of car window templates.
According to the company, installation time is reduced by half and users save 20 percent on material that is cut to accurate patterns. Also according to the company website, “EnerCut is the first program in the world for cutting vehicle window films which is being supplied for free. Energysa supplies it as a service to its customers.”
