by Casey Neeley
Tampa is no stranger to competition. The city is home to multiple national sports teams. If you get into town early, hometown National Football League team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the New Orleans Saints Sunday, September 15 in a 4 p.m. game. If you aren’t a football fan, local Major League Baseball team the Tampa Bay Rays will play both the Texas Rangers September 16th-19th and the Baltimore Orioles the 20th-23rd at home. The city also serves as the home of National Hockey League team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, with games played right across the street from IWFC. In addition to an array of sports teams, Tampa also offers a variety of cultural attractions, including the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts Inc. and Henry B. Plant Museum. Family-friendly finds include the Glazer’s Children’s Museum, Busch Gardens and the Florida Aquarium. For more attractions, see our city guide on page 41.
Between show floor exhibitions, the Tint-Off Competitions, educational seminars and a variety of local attractions, this year’s IWFC has something to offer everyone.
