Safelite Names New Board
of Directors

The new post-bankruptcy Safelite has named its board of directors. The new board took office on September 29.

George T. Haymaker Jr. of Kaiser Aluminum has been named chairman. The Board’s other new members are Wilson C. Cooney, the former deputy CEO of property and casualty operations for the United Services Automobile Association; Donald DeFossett Jr., who was most recently the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Dura Automotive Systems Inc.; James J. Gaffney, chairman and president of Vermont Investments Ltd.; Laurie M. Shahon, the president and founder of Wilton Capital; and Michael S. Wilder, who will soon be retiring from his position as senior vice president and general counsel for Hartford Financial Services Group. John Barlow, president and chief executive officer at Safelite, Doug Herron, chief financial officer, and Dan Wilson, senior vice president, also serve on the company’s board of directors.


Timmons Moves Up the Essex Ladder

Joel Timmons has been named sales and marketing manager for Essex ARG of Dayton, Ohio. In his new position, Timmons will be responsible for all automotive replacement glazing marketing, sales, advertising and promotion, market research and commercial development leadership relating to the automotive industry. Timmons joined Essex ARG (then predecessor PTI) in 1988 as field sales supervisor, and he most recently held the position of division sales manager.
