Auto Glass Installer Plays in International Piano Competition

Greg Fisher, an auto glass installer and glazier for AAA Edmund Glass & Mirror in Edmund, OK, recently competed in the first International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs, which was sponsored by the Van Cliburn Foundation. The competition, held at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, TX, drew 92 piano amateurs. Fisher has been studying the piano since he was eight years old, according to his mother, Marlene. “He’s played since he was little, but quit about 13 years ago. He just started playing again seven months ago,” she said. Even with only a seven-month refresher, he made it to the semi-finals—one of only 16 people. Due to his performance, the Ft. Worth Orchestra asked him to accompany them at a concert held during the latter part of June. Fisher has a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Missouri.
