Weather Shield® Extends Legacy Series™

Medford Wis.-based Weather Shield Windows and Doors has introduced an extension to the Weather Shield Legacy Series, hinged and patio door systems with French and swinging patio doors. For custom and luxury homes, these doors feature adjustable 4-inch hinges that match the handle finish and allow for height changes. A solid wood core with strong extruded aluminum exteriors are also featured in the 2 ¼-inch thick door panels. The doors come in a variety of widths, up to 3 feet, 6 inches, with door heights up to 10 feet.

WoodWare Updates WTS Paradigm™ Engineering Software

WoodWare Systems of Memphis, Tenn., has expanded the capabilities of its WTS Paradigm engineering software, formerly known as Pro-Shape™. Now, the software has the ability to design architectural doors from project-to-project with the ease of a standard product selection, and to select standard patterns to match the desired product closely. The software will also engineer and create a manufacturing cut list that takes into account production methods, tolerances and manufacturing limitations, according to the company.

WoodWare says a number of door and window companies already use this innovative software package, including Riverside Millwork of Charlotte, N.C., and Annona Manufacturing Co. of Annona, Texas. The company also has available its business application software for order entry, purchasing, inventory management, production, accounting and bar coding.

In addition, WoodWare Systems recently announced that it is now distributing Nashville-based Edge-Net Inc.’s m2o custom-configuration software to clients. Edgenet executives say WoodWare is the ideal company to help expand m2o’s reach into the fenestration marketplace.

“EdgeNet’s m2o configurator has become the industry standard for field-based configuration and quoting of window and door products,” said Nick Carter, Edge-Net president. “Many of our distributor customers sell window or door products from manufacturers who already use the m2o software as their quoting and ordering tool. In addition to developing the interface from our WoodWare software to these m2o catalogs, we will actively and aggressively market the m2o product to other window and door manufacturers.
