Bystronic Promotes
Pabst to Vice President
Roland Pabst has been promoted to vice president of Hauppauge, N.Y.-based Bystronic Inc.’s glass processing systems division.
Pabst, who joined the company in January 2001, will oversee sales, customer service, billing, order management, training and application, as well as technical support electronics.
Prior to joining the company, Pabst worked extensively in the container glass industry where he held the position of head engineer and later was vice president of the international business division. Pabst has also worked in the gas turbines industry as a site manager and commissioning and service engineer.
Schlegel Systems Promotes Key Players
Schlegel Systems Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., has promoted Skip Remaley to manager of the company’s building products division and
David England to the position of product development manager.
Remaley, who was previously a product development manager, will now be responsible for marketing and sales. Prior to joining Schlegel in 1994, he held senior-level engineering and sales positions at Season-All Inc. of Indiana, Pa., Peerless Products of Kansas City, Mo., and Amacor Industries of Delmont, Pa. He has more than 20 years of experience in the fenestration industry.
England was most recently a fenestration lab manager at the company. In his new role, he will be responsible for design and development of new environmental sealing products, machine applications engineering and product test and evaluation. Before arriving at Schlegel Systems in 1999, England was a laboratory engineer at the University of Rochester’s high-energy physics department. He has more than ten years of experience in the machine tool industry.
Brown Promoted to Sales Manager
Peachtree Doors and Windows Inc. of Norcross, Ga., recently named Chris Brown as national sales manager. In his new position, he will have responsibility for all sales and distribution activities for the company. Brown will continue to act as brand manager until a replacement is named.
Brown began his career at the company in 1994 as a territory manager and was later promoted to window product manager. Most recently, he served as brand manager in charge of new product development initiatives, customer direction, pricing, marketing communications and product promotions.
Plevel Takes on Sales Manager Position
Thomas (Tom) Plevel was recently named as Midwest regional sales manager of VEKA Innovations, the company’s fence, deck and railing division. In his new position, Plevel will service accounts in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas and Nebraska.
Prior to joining VEKA Innovations, Plevel spent eight years with VEKA’s marketing department as a project coordinator, servicing the company’s window and door customers.
