Focus Doors and Windows Takes Sophie Marquis Aboard
Sophie Marquis has joined Focus Doors and Windows as vice president of human resources. She has more than 15 years experience in labor law, human resources and legal affairs. According to a company release, she has held senior positions with manufacturing companies as well as labor attorney. 

“Her experience and expertise will certainly be valuable assets to our group,” said Robert Doyon, president and chief executive officer. 

ADCO Products Hires New Employees
ADCO Products Inc. of Michigan Center, Mich., has announced the addition of Philip Schoof as the vice president of sales and marketing. Schoof previously held positions as a business manager and a global marketing manager for Arizona Chemical Company.

Paul Snowwhite has also joined the company as director of technology. Snowwhite has more than 10 years experience in developing new and existing technologies in the specialty chemicals industry, with extensive knowledge in ultraviolet and lection beam curing processes. He is an active member of RadTech International and acts as the co-chairperson of the plastic focus group.

Heritage Veneered Products Announces Key Executive Changes
Shawano, Wis.-based Heritage Veneered Products (HVP), manufacturer of WOODPORT® interior doors, has announced the recent appointment of Dan Pilon to the position of general manager. The company’s former general manager, Bob Nolan, will continue as an active board member and will serve as a professional business consultant in key growth-related areas. Both leadership assignments support HVP’s long-term strategic plan, according to a company release.

“To meet our expansion goals, we need to be aggressive within new and existing markets,” said Bob Owens, president and chief executive officer of Duluth, Minn.-based Owens Forest Products, parent company of HVP. “We plan to continue our record double-digit growth capitalizing on Dan’s depth of management experience and Bob’s global manufacturing background.”

Pilon, who has been involved in manufacturing for 25 years, has direct knowledge about the window and door industry. In previous roles, he was plant manager at Nortek-SNE of Mosinee, Wis., and vice president of manufacturing at Marvin Windows and Doors of Warroad, Minn. 

“I am excited to work with a team that wants to grow and has a strong commitment to its employees,” Pilon said. “My career has prepared me for this exciting challenge.”

Kolbe and Kolbe is a Family Affair 
Kolbe and Kolbe Millwork Co. Inc. of Wausau-Wis., announced that Judith Kolbe Gorski has been elected chairperson of the board and chief executive officer of the company. 

It was also announced that Michael Salsieder has been appointed president, and will also serve as a member of the board of directors of the company. 

ASSOCIATIONS
SMA Elects New President
The Screen Manufacturers Association (SMA) gathered at the Palm Beach Hilton Ocean Front Resort in Palm Beach in May for its annual meeting of the general membership. The association’s annual election brought the installation of a new president, Mark DeZwarte of Alumeroll Specialty Company.

“... By creating and initiating universally-recognized screen industry standards, that meet or exceed the requirements of various governmental and code entities, and super-heading consumer-orientated programs that deal with screen safety issues, SMA has created a loud voice for industry growth while supporting and promoting consumer safety,” said DeZwarte. 

The association also updated its board of directors which now includes Roger Lewington of Saint-Gobain Bayform, Rob Martineau of Quanex, Alan Gray of Phifer Wire, Thomas King of Aluminite, Daniel Gray of Hanover, Robert Williams and Kelly King of RiteScreen and DeZwarte.
