Simonton Announces New Hires 
Simonton Windows of Parkersburg, W.Va., has recently hired Julie Balsley as promotions manager and Lissa Lucas as public relations manager. Simonton employee Lisa Cronin has been promoted to corporate controller. 

Balsley will help coordinate information for the company’s Nitpickers™ Club of more than 15,000 contractors and builders, and in addition, will manage mail-in rebate programs, promotions on new products and existing lines and the corporate apparel program at the company. 

She has been employed at United Bankshares Inc. as the company’s marketing research analyst for the past nine years. 

Lucas will plan, direct and execute trade and consumer media activities as the company’s new public relations manager. She will also coordinate product donations and special events for the company, and support product introductions by producing communications materials. She served most recently as director of communications at Salem International University.

The company also announced that Lisa Cronin has been promoted from assistant controller and controller for SimEx to controller at Simonton Windows. She has been with the company for seven years.

“She brings a wealth of experience to this position,” said Rick Keup, president of Simonton.

“We’re fortunate to have her expertise.”

New Additions for Amesbury Group
Amesbury Group has announced that Richard Murray, Ph.D. will join the company as the safety and environmental affairs group manager. In this newly-created role, Murray will be responsible for company-wide safety/environmental programs and facilities business risk management. He will work with local division managers to facilitate the sharing of best practices and compliance, assist with the company’s ISO14001 efforts and ensure that proactive safety programs are in place in all facilities.

Tony Reneger has also joined the company as the quality systems manager. He has been working in the textile industry sections, apparel and automotive fabrics for more than 24 years, according to a company release.

Renegar will be based in the Statesville, N.C., facility of BSI-Balance Systems and will travel to the other ten Amesbury Group facilities to assist with the group’s safety and quality improvements.

The company has also announced that Steve Brennan is the new group human resources manager for several Amesbury Group divisions. He will be providing human resource direction and leadership to seven locations. Four of the BSI-Balance Systems facilities, one BSI-Door Hardware facility, one Fastek Products facility and the Western Division, all in the United States, will be under his leadership.

Milgard Manufacturing Mourns Passing of Co-Founder
Gary Milgard, 69, co-founder, chief executive officer and chairperson of the board for Milgard Manufacturing, died July 13 after a long illness. 

Milgard, a resident of Tacoma, Wash., and Palm Springs, Calif., is survived by his wife Carol Berry Milgard, son Mark, daughters Cari and Lori and his brother Jim.

Gary Milgard and his father, Maurice Milgard, Jr., founded Milgard Glass Co. in 1958. In 1962, Gary Milgard founded Milgard Manufacturing, which was purchased by Michigan-based Masco Corp. in 2001.

Milgard served as president of the company from its inception until 2003, and continued to serve as chairperson and chief executive officer until his death. He is known for his generosity to employees and to the communities in which the company operated. Gary Milgard’s legacy of extraordinary customer service and his commitment to developing the potential of the people who worked for him continued throughout his career, according to a company release.
