KUDOS

DWM Publisher Honored for Work with Magazine

Tara Taffera, publisher of Door and Window Manufacturer (DWM) magazine and contributing editor to USGlass magazine, was honored recently for her work with the magazines’ parent company, Key Communications Inc.

Company president Debra Levy presented the Holly X. Carter Biller Award for outstanding employee performance to Taffera at the company holiday dinner.

“She almost single-handedly started a magazine and, with her team, has made it into a bona-fide success in the industry in four years,” Levy said of Taffera, who described her as someone who does a lot more behind the scenes than anyone realizes.

Now in its fifth year, DWM has received the prestigious American Society of Business Publication Editor’s award in Excellence as Best New Publication of the Year in the Eastern Division in 2001.

“She does more with the many other facets of the job that don’t directly involve DWM than anyone realizes,” Levy continued.

The award, named after Key Communications marketing director Holly Biller, is presented to the employee who most shows extraordinary service to the company. It was first presented in 2004 to production manager Kim White.
