Promotions
GED Promotes Bill Weaver 
to VP of Sales and Service

GED Integrated Solutions of Twinsburg, Ohio, has promoted Bill Weaver to vice president of sales and service. 
In his new position, Weaver will oversee domestic and international sales activities as well as service, training and customer support offerings. Weaver has more than 23 years experience in the door and window industry and nine-years experience at GED, where he served most recently as director of sales. 

Homeshield Promotes Two
Homeshield Fenestration Components has named Jeff Smith marketing research manager for the Homeshield group. Employed since 2000, Smith will utilize his skills and experience in the wood industry to investigate markets and make recommendations for future growth.
 
Steve Pisca has been promoted to operations manager of the Homeshield Colonial Craft Luck, Wis. division. Pisca has been employed in various positions at the Moundsview, Minn. facility, where he is currently the manufacturing manager. 

NEW HIRES
Truseal Enhances 
Marketing and Sales Staff 

Truseal Technologies Inc. has hired a new employee for marketing and business development and also promoted a member of its sales force.

Marcus Linde has been named marketing specialist for North America and director of business development in Europe. Linde has held international marketing and account management positions with several tier-one automotive suppliers.
 
Greg Bennett was promoted to regional sales manager, responsible for the Southwestern United States and Mexico. Bennett, who lives in Dallas, has been with Truseal for eight years in various sales positions. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Anderson University.

Nordson Hires 
Eric Luftig for Marketing
 
Eric Luftig has joined Nordson Corp. as marketing manager for the Adhesive Systems Group. He will be responsible for developing and managing marketing efforts for the Packaging and Product Assembly business group, as well as leading efforts to identify and capitalize on trends in new and existing global markets. Luftig will also oversee domestic marketing functions, including marketing communications, pricing, training and trade show support. He will be based in Duluth, Ga., reporting to Jeff Pembroke, vice president Adhesive Systems sales and marketing. 

Luftig earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Sunrise Windows Welcomes New Marketing Manager
Sunrise Windows of Temperance, Mich., has appointed Lance Eller as marketing manager. He had been working as the territory manager for Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. The company says it expects Eller to pursue innovative approaches to marketing, particularly in the realm of developing tools for dealers to generate leads. 

ASSOCIATIONS
Cardinal IG President Appointed to WDMA Board
The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) of Des Plaines, Ill., now has direct representation on its board from the insulating glass (IG) side of the business.

Industry veteran Tom Kaiser, president of Cardinal IG Co. of Eden Prairie, Minn., recently joined the WDMA board of directors. He has been active in WDMA for 13 years, serving in various capacities. Kaiser is a West Point graduate who, prior to joining Cardinal IG Co., was with Allegheny Ludlum, a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based stainless steel producer. 

APPOINTMENTS

Ken Silverman to Leave Silver Line; 
Randy Iles Named President and CEO

Andersen Corp. of Bayport, Minn., announced that Kenneth Silverman, president and chief operating officer of its subsidiary, Silver Line Building Products Corp, is leaving the business. Silver Line, the largest vinyl window manufacturer in North America, was acquired by Andersen Corp. earlier this year.

Randy Iles, currently executive vice president at Silver Line will succeed Silverman as president and CEO. Iles joined the company in July 2006 from Kimball International, where he served as corporate vice president and general manager. Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Pella Corp. in a variety of leadership roles including president and CEOof its entry systems division. Iles also spent 16 years with Armstrong World Industries in a variety of marketing, national sales and general management roles.
