 HARDWARE

Winkhaus North America Launches One Motion™
Winkhaus North America of Whitewater, Wis., has unveiled its One Motion™ multipoint locking system, which has an auto unlock function from inside the room. MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

“It’s a Wrap” from EDL
EDL of Green Bay, Wis., has introduced the Protecta Pack Hibrid system, which combines bundling and stretch technology. The system applies a sleeve of poly foam, bubble film, LDPE or high abuse film to protect the top, bottom, leading and trailing faces of the package. Stretch film is then horizontally wrapped to fully enclose and hold the protective material in place. This process positions a dual layer of protective material around the edges and corners of the product where it is most vulnerable.

The Protecta Pack Hibrid system operates on various product sizes at random and tensions the flexible material to the shape and size of the product. www.edlpackaging.com

DuraDrum IG Bulk Melters Keep it Constant
DuraDrum IG bulk melters from Nordson Corp. of Duluth, Ga., deliver consistent dispensing of sealants, mastics or adhesives to insulating glass production. The melters offer quick, easy installation on linear extruders as well as most other edge sealers, according to the company. Additionally, the melters support manual systems for fourth corner patch or handgun use.

Gear pump and metering capability provide positive displacement for consistent delivery of sealants, mastics and adhesives, including high viscosity materials. The gear pump design eliminates the need for compensators or regulators while providing consistency from the front edge to the back edge of each spacer. High melt and pump rates are supported by the 55-gallon drum capacity. www.nordson.com

SOFTWARE

VinCAD® Speeds Up the Process
VinCAD®, a part of Microsoft Axapta business solutions, is a software for door and window manufacturers that removes many manual processes that often result in high waste percentages, unnecessary errors, slow response time to customer requests and inefficient production management.

Users of VinCAD® can customize the doors and windows together with the customer and view an exact two-dimensional drawing. The customer receives a visual picture of the order, and because all the components are automatically pulled from the stock, the software creates a connection between the quotation, the order confirmation and production.

VinCAD® generates a bill of materials for the actual elements automatically that will be used and makes it possible for the automatic ordering of raw materials.  www.vincad.net
