Simpson® Introduces Simulated Divided Lite Doors

Simpson Door Company is expanding options for its exterior French and sash doors and sidelites by introducing the Simpson Simulated Divided Lite (SDL). Simpson SDL doors capture the elegance of a true-divided lite with a single insulating glass unit, allowing the doors to achieve high energy efficiency ratings and meet hurricane and design pressure requirements, according to the company.

To obtain the divided-lite look, Simpson manufactures its SDL doors and sidelites by inserting a “shadow spacer” between the two lites of glass and then permanently affixing decorative bars to both of the outward-facing sides of the glass. The bars are 7/8 inches thick and come in two profiles—ViewSaver® and Shaker—and multiple wood species or PVC for use with Simpson WaterBarrier® Technology.

Booth C2433:
Endura Products Introduces Jamb Lock

Endura Products is introducing the jamb lock for the portion of the market in single doors and sidelite systems. This all-new locking system resists deflection and adds a tight, secure seal to the single door or CSL unit by putting a three-point lock mechanism into the jamb or mull. The system also is entirely encased in the jamb or mullion, and does not require the installer to bore the active door.

The new jamb lock system works like this: the deadbolt activates the lock actuator, which throws out two equidistant lock throws from the jamb to the lock keepers in the active door. With minimal routing required and “jamb jack” fasteners, which attach and supports the jamb to the stud, wind loads are taken off the door unit itself, thus improving the overall performance of the door unit, according to the company.
