Glass Working Machines

A number of machinery manufacturers have released information about products that address the needs of glass and metal fabricators. Below is a sampling of some of the newest products available.

Colibri 200 From Z. Bavelloni

Z. Bavelloni S.p.A. of Bregnano, Italy, offers the Colibri 200, a numerically controlled machine suitable for the edge processing of glass sheets and mirrors of low to medium thickness. Features include the ability to process pieces with thicknesses of up to 10 mm without replacing tools and the ability to process shaped glass sheets.

Lovati Fratelli s.r.l. Features Grinder, Polisher

Lovati Fratelli s.r.l. of Assago, Italy, offers a numerically controlled automatic machine to grind and polish the edges on glass. The LOV-622-OT, which can perform holes, pin and screw inserts and internal and external milling and routing, also makes it possible to work any geometrical profile by means of linear and circular interpolation on X, Y and Z axes. Other features include a water cooling system inside and outside the wheel, and large- and small-effect double-suction cups.

Automated System From Sturtz Machinery

Solon, OH-based Sturtz Machinery Inc. has introduced technology that allows fully automated vinyl cleaning and welding through a modular system. The company’s CNC Series corner welder and four-point welder may be interlinked with additional components to form an automated welding and cleaning system. Data is transferred from the welder to cleaner electronically.

Edgetech Introduces Euroline Technology

Edgetech of Cambridge, OH, has introduced Euroline technology, suitable for manual and semi-automated IG production. The company says Euroline is compatible with existing vertical equipment due to the use of three new components—a spacer applicator called Super Shuttle 2 and accompanying Support Module plus a vertical application station supplied by the production line equipment manufacturers.

Machines For Glass Panels From Janbac

Janbac of Vernouillet, France, offers the 3000 CN series and 5000 CN series numerically controlled multi-spindle drilling stations for small and medium glass panels. The 3000 CN series features automatic feed and mechanical adjustment of drilling and path depth, while the 5000 CN automatically adjusts the drill path setting on the glass.
