Auto glass tools and knives are continually advancing to facilitate repair and replacement. A sampling of some of the latest products is provided.

Equalizer Presents Freedom

Equalizer Industries of Round Rock, TX, has introduced the Equalizer® Freedom, an 18-volt, cordless auto glass removal tool, and Equalizer brand cold knife blades, which are available with a standard thickness and ultra thin cutting part. In addition, the company has also added the apprentice technician tool kit, which contains all the basic tools needed by an auto glass technician, and the master technician tool kit, which contains all the tools a master technician would need, according to the company.

Windshield Cup From Wood’s Powr-Grip

Wood’s Powr-Grip Co. of Laurel, MT, offers the model LJ6VH vertical handle vacuum cup for windshield replacements. The cup includes an all-metal vertical handle for leverage in windshield positioning, a red-line indicator to warn the user in case of vacuum loss and lift tabs on the vacuum pad for instant release.

UltraWiz® Standard Cable Pull Kit

A.N. Designs, Inc. of Torrington, CN, has unveiled the UltraWiz standard Cable Pull Kit for auto glass applications. The kit includes a knife with a heavy-duty stainless steel cable attachment end, which is partially open to reduce metal fatigue during stamping.

Gold Glass Group Unveils New Moulding

Gold Glass Group of Bohemia, NY, has introduced the T-100B cavity moulding for auto glass. The moulding, which is 120 feet per spool, has a high-gloss finish and is wrapped in a full-length sleeve for added protection.

Essex Offers Sealant and Adhesive Tape

Essex ARG of Dayton, OH, offers FlexiTrim Universal Moulding and the FC-6737 and FC-8830 Foam Core Butyl Sealant Tape. According to the company, the FlexiTrim uses OE material and is one millimeter wider than original moulding, while the sealant tape prevents leaking and contains a foam core that absorbs pressure.

Glas-Weld Offers Scratch Removal System

Glas-Weld Systems of Bend, OR, has created a new scratch removal system. Glas-Weld says its product removes scratches from all types of glass, removes deep scratches, and is lightweight and easy to use.

Glass Technology Components for Repair

Glass Technology of Durango, CO, has introduced the corner crack jack and the large crack jack for its long-crack repair process. The corner crack jack is designed to reach the area between the dashboard and windshield, while the large crack jack was developed to open an abrupt bend or turn in a crack.
