Courtaulds Appoints Devenish

David Devenish has joined Glendale, CA-based Courtaulds Aerospace Commercial Prod-ucts in sales and market development. Located in Toronto, his region includes Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime Provinces. Devenish has more than 15 years of experience in the glass industry.

First Systech Adds Patterson

First Systech International, Inc. of Phoenix, AZ, has added Joel Patterson to its sales and support staff. Patterson, who has more than 25 years of experience in the door and millwork industries, will be the installation and implementation manager for existing and new customers.

Southwall Announces Personnel Changes

Southwall Technologies Inc. of Palo, Alto, CA, has appointed Thomas G. Hood to the position of president and CEO following the resignation of Martin Schwartz. Hood, who has been with the company since 1981, will serve as president and CEO on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is chosen.

In addition, the company has appointed Bill R. Finley as its vice president finance and chief financial officer, replacing L. Ray Christie. Finley has held the position of chief executive officer for several technology companies and has served as controller for Southwall on two occasions.

Staff Changes at Speedy Auto

Speedy Auto and Window Glass of Anchorage, AK, has added Angelia Blomberg to its sales staff. Blomberg, who formerly owned Frontier Glass of Anchorage and Juneau, will be responsible for the development of contract, fleet and commercial accounts. The company has also promoted Steven Purvis, who formerly worked at the company's Fireweed and Huffman locations, to branch manager of its Juneau branch.

In addition, the company has promoted JoDee Young to the position of branch manager of the company's Eagle River store, replacing Irene Wallin, who returns to her former position as branch manager of the Fireweed and Arctic location. Young joined the company in 1992, while Wallin has been with Arctic Speedy since 1983.



McCord, Jones Promoted at Cadillac

Troy, MI-based Cadillac Plastic has appointed Mark McCord to the position of director of value-added business. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for both the fabrication and PFC film conversion operations. Previously he served as general manager of Cadillac's eastern unit.

In addition, the company has appointed Tammy Jones regional human resources manager. Jones, who will be responsible for employee relations, training, recruiting, safety and benefits administration, held many human resources positions of increasing responsibility at Black & Decker before arriving at Cadillac Plastic.

Applied Films Names Edman President

Applied Films Corporation of Longmont, CO, has elected Thomas T. Edman president and chief executive officer. Edman was executive vice president and chief operating officer with Applied Films after serving as the general manager of the high performance materials division at Marubeni Speciality Chemicals, Inc.

Major Braces For Growth

Major Industries of Wausau, WI, a designer and manufacturer of skylights, has appointed Kenneth Urban to manager of information systems and technology and promoted Sandra Zarda to manager of operations. These appointments were made to fill new management positions in the company that were created in anticipation of future growth.

Apogee Appoints Two

Apogee Enterprises, Inc. of Minneapolis, MN, has announced the appointment of Michael Bevilacqua as treasurer/senior director business development and the promotion of James Porter to corporate controller. Bevilacqua, who was formerly at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., and Porter, who was assistant corporate controller, will both report to Robert Barbieri, Apogee's vice-president finance/chief financial officer.

TruSeal Promotes Two

TruSeal Technologies, Inc. of Beachwood, OH, has named Lori Postak market manager for the Asia Pacific region and James Doell marketing manager for North America. Postak, who will continue in her role as product manager for the Swiggle® Seal lines, has 11 years of experience in the industry. Doell, formerly market manager for Tremco and TruSeal Technologies, will be responsible for business development and product positioning in North America.

VVP Appoints Draper

VVP America, Inc. of Memphis, TN, has named Harry Draper to the position of managing director of the company's Glasscraft Division. Draper's duties will include sales, marketing and operational control of all products.

Co-Ex Announces Promotion

Co-Ex Corporation of Rocky Hill, CT, has promoted Dave D'Anna to the position of customer service representative. D'Anna has been with the company for three years.

Vinyl Building Products Promotes Lane

Vinyl Building Products, Inc. of Oakland, NJ, has promoted Sharon Lane to the position of manager of marketing services. Lane will be responsible for internal and external formal communications, customer marketing material development and personalization, advertising and defining strategic marketing objectives.

Laminated Glass Promotes Soden

Laminated Glass Corporation of Telford, PA, has announced the promotion of Gary Soden to vice president of manufacturing. Soden, who is a 15-year veteran of the company, will oversee laminating, tempering and insulating production.



Bostik Recognizes Sales Winners

Bostik Inc. of Middleton, MA, has recognized Prime Industries of Lafayette, CO, and Mike Chavez of Hunter Douglas, a Bostik customer in the Denver area, as winners of a six-month sales incentive campaign. The Bostik program was implemented to help industrial distributors increase sales of Bostik products to new prospects. Distributors were evaluated according to their total sales of Bostik products.

Greensboro Group Wins Alumax Award

Alumax Bath Enclosures of Dallas, TX, has presented its Service Center of the Year Award to Doug Bradley, service center manager of its bath enclosure service center of Greensboro, NC. The award recognizes the accomplishments of the entire service center team, including Ray O'Brien, Linda Cooper, Bennie Hudson, Melvin McClain, Doug Bradley, Linda Bates and David Goad.



NWDA Elects Officers and Directors

Northeast Window and Door Association elected officers and directors during its January annual business meeting in Baltimore, MD. John P. Mesko of Thermolite Inc., in Scranton, PA, was elected president; Christopher Lorber of B.R. Rich Co. in Newark, DE, and Don Adriaansen of Prysm Marketing in Livonia, NY, were named first and second vice president respectively, while Don Sennett of Newtown Manufacturing in Wilkes Barre, PA, was named financial officer. Clark A. Burget of A.H.I.P in Delmont, PA, Jon Hill of Dayton Technologies in Monroe, OH, Keith Oakley of Air Chek Mfg., in Clinton, NJ, and Victor Skukalek of PPG Industries in Carlisle, PA, joined Ernest S. Chace, Jr., of Shuco Homecraft LP in Newington, CT, as members of the board of directors.



Harris Named President of Bickley Incorporated

Vincent P. Harris has been named president of Bickley Incorporated of Bensalem, PA. Harris has been with Bickley for ten years, most recently serving as vice president-operations.

New Directors Elected At GIMAV

GIMAV—the Italian Association of Glassworking Machinery and Accessory Suppliers—has elected its board of directors for the period 1998-2000. Annibale Besana was named president of the organization, Dino Fenzi was elected honorary president, Maurizio Enrico and Angelo Lovati were elected vice presidents and Michele Gusti was named president of the hollow glass machinery group. The group elected Dino Bavelloni, Giulio Isernia, Piero Lasala, Daniele Santi and Adelio Lattuada members of council, while Renata Gaffo remains secretary general of GIMAV. Alfredo Porata was elected president of the auditors, while Cinzia Schiatt and Patrizia Fiori and were named auditors. The Vitrum main members of the board include president Dino Fenzi, vice-president Dino Bavelloni and secretary general Renata Gaffo.
