Rehau Inc. of Leesburg, VA, has introduced its 21-mm UniFit automotive windshield moulding to complement its 15.5-mm and 17-mm UniFit sizes. The company says the 21-mm trim ensures complete coverage of surface marks on vehicles that have wide OEM windshield trim. The mouldings are also factory primed, remain pliable at low temperatures and contain a U-channel that fits around the glass to achieve an aerodynamic performance.
The Adhesives and Sealants unit of AlliedSignal Specialty Chemicals of Michigan Center, MI, has introduced the TITAN 600PLUS, which it says is a one-part, quick-cure urethane adhesive for windshield installation. According to the company, the 600PLUS has been reformulated, is isocyanate-free and provides an extended shelf life of nine months. The adhesive comes in an aluminum urethane dispensing cartridge, has a desiccant capsule at the end seal and allows packaging of 12 tubes per case.
Glass Technology of Durango, CO, says it has reformulated its Diamond Clear LV and LV Plus resins to remove the odor associated with UV-curing windshield repair resins. According to the company, its ongoing research and development in resin enhancement has allowed it to create the low-viscosity resin.
"These new products are more pleasant to work with and have enhanced performance," said Kerry Wanstrath of the company.
The 3M Automotive Trades Division of St. Paul, MN, offers a rear view mirror adhesive kit in a squeeze bottle and an aerosol can. The kit contains an activator, in an aerosol can, and an adhesive, in a squeeze bottle. According to the company, the adhesive bonds in seconds, has handling strength in ten to 20 seconds, achieves 60 percent of its complete strength in one minute and has controlled activator dispensing that reduces waste.
A.N. Designs, Inc. of Torrington, CN, has unveiled the UltraWiz® Standard Cable Pull Kit (P/N 3002-K) for auto glass applications. The kit includes a knife with a heavy-duty stainless steel cable attachment end, which is partially open to reduce metal fatigue during stamping. This technique makes the connection stronger than any standard knife available, according to the company.
Le Joint Francais of Bezons, France, offers adhesives and sealants for the AGR industry. According to the company, the products are approved by a number of countries for their OEM markets.
