Salem Distributing Hires New Sales Manager
Michael Willard, formerly of Pilk-ington/LOF, has been named national sales
manager for Salem Dist-ributing of Win-ston-Salem, NC. Previously he held management
positions in manufacturing, sales and operations support for both the building products
and aftermarket glass replacement divisions for Pilkington/LOF. In his new position,
Willard will direct the companys domestic and international sales.
Abrasive Technology Announces Changes
Westerville, OH-based Abr-asive Technology Inc. has announced two changes in its
structure. Kimberly Bailey has been named to the newly-created position of marketing
specialist. She will develop and coordinate marketing initiatives for the company.
Previously she worked five years as the public relations manager for a national real
estate development company.
Jim Weldon has assumed the position of controller. He will lead and direct the
companys financial management initiatives. He brings 25 years experience to the
company and most recently served as group controller with Frigidaire Co.
TruSeal Technologies Announces Promotions
TruSeal Technologies of Beachwood, OH, has an-nounced the promotion of Joel Falck
to CEO. Previ-ously Falck was the companys vice president of finance. His
responsibilities include all financial operations and management information systems.
James R. Blamble has been named regional sales manager. He will oversee sales operations
in ten states located in the Midwestern and southern parts of the country while conducting
direct sales for the Ohio, Indiana and Chicago markets.
Assuming the responsibilities of sales representative is Mark Hartman. He will handle
sales operations in Kentucky and Tennessee. Previously he was a sales representative for
IKON Office Solutions Inc. Hartman graduated from the University of Dayton with a bachelor
of science degree in business and marketing.
AFGD Promotes Hoover to Marketing Director
AFGD Inc. of Atlanta, has promoted Scott Hoover to di-rector of marketing and
business development. He was previously the companys architectural products manager.
His responsibilities will include all aspects of marketing and the development of new
products and services.
Klein-Dickert Realigns Board of Directors
A realignment of the Mad-ison, WI-based Klein-Dickert Co. Inc. board of directors
has taken place due to the recent retirement of president Richard S. Olson. The new board
includes: Francis X. Dickert, CEO and chairman of the board; M. Susan Dickert, president
and COO; Richard Karbon, executive vice president; Don M. Kanable, vice president; and
Donald H. Lukes, secretary-treasurer and CFO.
Stylmark Fills Key Positions
Stylmark of Minneapolis, has appointed a number of new employees. Daryl Walsh,
who was previously involved with Apogee Enterprises Inc., was appointed president, and
Jerry Otto, previously national sales director for Jostens Inc., was named general
sales manager. In addition, Chris Munn, who has over 11 years of experience in sales and
marketing, was added as general sales manager, Ed Krehl was promoted to product
applications manager and Amy Chatt, with seven years of marketing experience, is the new
marketing communications coordinator.
Patient Announces Retirement from Geon
William F. Patient, chairman and CEO of The Geon Co. of Cleveland, OH, has
announced his retirement. He will continue as chairman until the companys August
board meeting. Patient has held this position for six years.
NWDA Adds Members to Board of Directors
The Northeast Window and Door Association of Law-renceville, NJ, has announced the
election of a new president, first vice president, treasurer and four new directors to its
board of directors. The new president is Chris Lorber of BF Rich Co., the first vice
president is Keith Oakley of Air-Check Manufacturing and the treasurer is Art Poland of
Thermal Industries. New active member directors include Willis Schlabach of Sugarcreek
Industries, Tom Dixon of Patriot Manufacturing and Tom Shafer of MI Home Products. The new
associate member director is Mike Mackereth of Architectural Testing.
Washington Glass Association Holds Election
The Washington Glass Association elected new officers and board of director
members in early 1999. The officers are: Bill George of General Storefronts Inc., Everett,
WA-president; Frank Calbrese, of John Latta Associates Inc., Seattle-vice president; Ed
Howell of Hartung Glass Industries, Seattle-secretary; Bonnie Fay of Northwestern
Industries Inc., Seattle-treasurer; Jerry Larson of Larsons Glass, Puyallup, WA-past
president.
The members of the board are: Mike Ball of Glaziers & Glassworkers Local Union #188,
Seattle; Mark Casper of DeaMor Associates Inc., Seattle; Steve Kein of Taco West Inc.,
Kent, WA; Gary Towndrow of RGA Architectural Sales, Redmond, WA and Maryanne Howell will
continue as the
executive director.
