Shower Door Update

What’s New in the Bathroom Biz?

Consumers Reveal Bathroom Secrets

Shower door dealers may be interested in knowing what features consumers say they want in their bathrooms. After all, Americans spend an average of 35 minutes per day in the bathroom, according to a recent survey performed by American Standard (portions of the survey were published in a recent issue of Kitchen & Bath Business), in which 800 U.S residents were polled.

The results? Well, when asked what they wanted most in a luxury bath, a whirlpool garnered the most nods with 29 percent of the vote (see chart for additional features preferred by consumers).

While consumers spend a good deal of time in the bathroom, survey results showed that preference for a bath or shower is almost split down the middle, with 53 percent of Americans preferring a hot shower as opposed to a bath.
