Spec-Temp Expands Operations with New Equipment
Antwerp, Ohio-based Spec-Temp’s recent equipment additions are helping it better serve its customers, according to information from the company.

The company is now operating a CNC drill, which it says provides efficiency, reliability and short lead times. The drill allows for precision drilling from customer CAD files with 3/16- to 17/8-inch hole diameters and tolerances of +/- .015-hole size and +/- .030-hole location. 

ROMER Spec-Temp now operates a Romer system for measuring glass shapes.

The company adds that the machine has increased its capacity for glass drilling by 30 percent.
Another new addition for Spec-Temp is a Romer system for measuring glass shapes and molds. According to information from Spec-Temp, the system provides XYZ measurements of glass shapes, molds and other surfaces to within +/- .02 inches.

GE Structured Products and Film Specialties Announce Coated Sheet and Film Products Agreement
Film Specialties Inc. (FSI) of Hillsborough, N.J., has granted GE Plastics of Pittsfield, Mass., an exclusive worldwide license allowing GE to make and sell its Visgard® coated film and sheet products manufactured from GE engineering thermoplastic film and sheet substrates. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“The objective of this license agreement is to work with FSI to substantially increase sales of Visgard-coated film and sheet products,” said Jeff Rea, general manager, GE Structured Products. “By coupling FSI’s coating technology with GE’s LEXAN® sheet and film technology and our global reach, we expect to stimulate sales for these products, and accelerate the development of new and existing applications for Visgard-coated products, bringing additional value to our sheet and film customers.”

According to information from GE, FSI will supply Visgard coating solution under a long-term, worldwide supply agreement.
