Arch Appoints New National Sales Manager
Arch Aluminum & Glass Co. has announced the appointment of Steven Perilstein as its new national sales manager, effective June 7. Perilstein is responsible for Arch's sales activities.
Perilstein joined the company last October and has been working closely with Arch's network of North American branches.

"We are very excited to have Steve in this new position," said Arch chief executive officer Leon Silverstein. "His vast experience in our industry equips him to provide the sales leadership we will need in the years to come as we expand our product lines and markets."

Perilstein is a former founding member and director of United Glass Corp. and president/chief executive officer of Perilstein Distributing Co.

Struble Named New Communications Manager at PPG
PPG has introduced Robert J. Struble as marketing communications manager, flat glass products. A 15-year marketing veteran, Struble comes to PPG from RHI Refractories America and Harbison-Walker Refractories Co. where he served as director of corporate communications.

Struble's new duties at PPG include developing and executing communications programs that market PPG flat glass products to glass fabricators, architects, builders, consumers, window and door manufacturers and other significant audiences. 

"This position focuses exclusively on flat glass products, will be responsible for developing and executing our communication initiative across market segments and media types, crafting new product launch campaigns, maintaining our leading brand position, enhancing our market databases and ensuring that company messages are consistent and compelling," said Pat Kenny, PPG flat glass marketing director. 

Gardner Adds New Member to Senior Management Team
Gardner Glass Products' (GGP) management team has named Mike Edwards vice president and chief technical officer for the corporation. Formerly a senior sales and technical sales representative for Lilly Industrial Coatings, Edwards brings much experience to GGP, including launching and operating two new mirror lines, many years of experience as a supplier of silver, paint and coatings to the mirror industry and knowledge of process control on the silver line. Holding a bachelor's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute State University, Edwards worked for Consolidated Glass and Mirror in Galax, Va., as superintendent and vice president of silvering and environmental affairs, before joining Lilly in 1992. 

Tongco Named Manufacturers Representative for Wausau
Wausau Window and Wall Systemsģ has named Gary Tongco as North Carolina's manufacturers representative. The Woodstock, Ga., resident has more than 14 years of experience in the glass and glazing industry, most recently with Tongco Architectural Products Inc., which he managed with his brother. 

Before beginning Tongco Architectural Products, Tongco held sales positions with Westshore Glass, Arch Aluminum and Glass and Tubelite.

Morse Industries Names New Materials Manager

recently joined Morse Industries' management team in the position of materials manager. With experience in manufacturing materials management, international distribution and business development, Hand will manage the purchasing department and help the company find solutions to supply issues, tracking inventory and building vendor relationships. 

Puccio Named Vice President, Internal Control Services
Previously a partner at Pricewater-houseCoopers LLP, M. Shawn Puccio has joined Saint-Gobain Corp. as vice president of internal control services. Puccio will be responsible for leading the corporation's internal control services organization, which reviews and assesses the company's financial and accounting processes, systems and procedures. 

Puccio has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Marquette University, a master's from Wharton, is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Forum of Executive Women and currently serves as the treasurer for the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Branstrator Joins AFC Team
William Branstrator
has joined Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Aluminum Finishing Corp. (AFC) as general manager. Branstrator has 27 years of experience in the anodizing industry, and has conducted seminars and consulted on the aluminum finishing processes.

AFG Announces Senior Management Change
AFG Industries Inc. of Kingsport, Tenn., has announced Marc Massa's promotion to vice president of sales for AFG. In his new role, Massa will be responsible for AFG's North American sales. Joining AFG in 1981, Massa held primary glass-sales jobs in Pittsburgh and New York before accepting the position as manager of coated-product sales. He was promoted to director of residential sales before assuming the role of director of marketing in 2000.

Wausau Adds on to Advantage Product Team
Wausau Window and Wall Systems of Wausau, Wis., has expanded its Advantage Wausau management team. 

Promoted to sales and marketing manager is Steve Gille. Gille has overseen the Advantage brand since 2000. He served previously as pre-bid design engineer for the Eastern region.

Dale Cejka is the new inside sales manager and has more than 16 years of experience with Wausau. For the past four years he has been a manager, most recently serving as regional estimating manager for the Western United States.

Empirehouse Announces Promotion
Minneapolis-based Empirehouse Inc. has announced the promotion of James A. Bringle, CDT, CSI, to the position of operations manager for the company. Bringle has been with Empirehouse since 1984 and most recently served as the senior project manager.

Empirehouse is a woman-owned commercial glazing specialty contractor. 

Lisec America VP Takes Part in MS Bike Ride
DW Greg DeWeese
, vice president and general manager for Lisec America, took part in an Multiple Sclerosis Bike Ride June 7-9. The ride, which totaled 155 miles, began in Duluth, Minn., and ended in Minneapolis. 

More than 2,500 riders participated and more than $1 million was raised for the fight against MS. DeWeese alone raised $2,200.

New Additions to the CGCA Family
The Colorado Glazing Contractors Association (CGCA) announced new additions to the CGCA family in the form of two new babies and a new spouse. 

Scott Smith, president of Architectural Sales, and his wife, Kim, recently gave birth to a set of twin baby girls. Secondly, Randi Carson of A-1 Glass Inc., and CGCA board member, tied the knot with husband, Chris Valentine. The new Mr. and Mrs. Valentine honeymooned in Grand Lake, Colo.

Wood Honored with Driver of the Year Award

Bill Wood, a 17-year employee of J. E. Berkowitz L.P., recently was recognized as Ryder's Penn/Jersey CBU Driver of the Year for 2001. Criteria for the award included a safe driving record, job performance and attitude. Wood's impeccable record included zero moving violations, zero Department of Transportation reportable accidents and zero preventable and non-preventable accidents. He has averaged 45,000 miles a year during his ten years as a driver. 

Waterhouse Takes Part in White House Conference on Women Entrepreneurship
Waterhouse Dianne Waterhouse, president of Round Top Window Products in Brantford, Ontario, participated in the White House Conference on Women Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century, March 18-19. The conference reviewed the Department of Labor and the Small Business Administration's policies concerning women business owners today.

OGMA Announces New President
The Ontario Glass and Metal Association (OGMA) has appointed Dieter Ringler as its new president.

Ringler, who serves as president and owner of Oakville Glass and Mirror, succeeds past president Fred Fulton Jr. of Fulton Windows. Fulton will remain on the board as secretary.

Vice president of OGMA is Russ Jackson of AGS Contract Glazing; treasurer is Andrew Kennedy of Trulite Industries; Steve Gusterson of Alumicor and Daren Jamieson of Guardian Industries are new incoming directors.

Returning board members are Dennis Bizzotto, Surlite Glass; Dave Burdan, Southwest Glass Products; Ian Collins, CDS; Bill Kellar, Armourguard; and Peter Zagar, Commdoor.

Deviat Replaces Greenland as GAMA President
Art Deviat of Griffin Glass has been appointed to the position of president for the Glass and Architectural Metal Association (GAMA), replacing Ray Greenland of Alberta Glass who now assumes the role of past president.

ICC Executive Officer Passes Away
William J. Tangye, the International Code Councilís (ICC) first chief executive officer, passed away on June 1 after a battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife Elaine; three sons, James Cole, William Patrick (and his wife Susan) and Benjamin McKean (and his wife Audrey); a daughter, Cayce Belle Tangye; his mother LaRue McKean; and a sister, Jeri McMillan.

His funeral was held June 4 at Saint Paulís Catholic Cathedral in Birmingham, Ala.
