SAF Announces Sheet and Extrusion Warehouse Expansion

Atlanta-based Southern Aluminum Finishing (SAF) has announced the completion of its sheet and extrusion warehouse renovation. SAF chose to upgrade its warehouse in order to improve customer service turnaround of aluminum sheet and extrusions.

The facility, which began operations in April, has made a major impact on orders, according to the company, and allows for one-day service on anodized extrusion orders.

According to SAF, with its “Next Day Out Extrusions Service” the sales department takes orders until 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Extrusions are pulled and anodized on second shift and then packed on the next morning’s first shift. Delivery times range from one day in the Southeast to up to five working days in California.

“SAF is one of the few sources in the world with such a deep inventory of aluminum extrusions located next to an anodizing line,” said John McClatchey, president. “For decades customers have relied on SAF for exact quantities of custom anodized aluminum extrusions. With our fast and easy Next Day Out Extrusions Service we hope to increase customer loyalty while giving new customers a compelling reason to experience SAF’s excellent customer service.”

According to CGI, Pyroguard was tested for 20 minutes (non-hose stream) and passed positive pressure fire-ratings classifications for use in hollow metal and wood doors, sidelites, borrowed lites and transoms.

“The UL approval completes the set of approvals we need for Pyroguard to be installed by
whoever locally marks and glazes the door or screen,” said Gratten Williams, CGI North American sales manager.
