McClenahan Joins Westcrowns as Regional Sales Manager
Westcrowns Inc. of Ocean Isle, N.C., has hired Bill McClenahan as its Western regional sales manager.

“Bill has devoted his career to the marketing and manufacturing of specialty architectural products,” said Geoffrey Card, president. “His extensive knowledge, experience and leadership will help build and expand our marketing efforts.”

McClenahan has a mechanical engineering degree from Duke University and a masters from Temple University. He also has experience as a Naval officer, and for more than 15 years worked for a U.S. aggregate panel manufacturer, culminating in serving as president of the company and minority business owner. Prior to joining Westcrowns in March 2004 McClenahan began and built a sales company for a Munich, Germany-based manufacturer of specialty and OEM photoelectric sensors. 

Arch Adds Two to Aluminum Division
Arch Aluminum & Glass, of Tamarac, Fla., has announced two personnel additions to its aluminum division, Mark Muskovich and Sean Cooney. 

Muskovich will take on the position of national fabrication manager while Cooney will join the Villa Rica, Ga., branch as an estimator and project manager. 

“Both of these guys have a wealth of industry experience; adding them just strengthens our division even more,” said Jeff Ziesche, director of aluminum operations. “We are thrilled to add them to the team.”

Rick Friel Joins Desert Glass Products
Rick Friel has joined Desert Glass Products of Las Vegas as the company’s general manager. Friel is relocating to the Las Vegas area to replace interim general manager, Matt Hale, who will resume his role in the company’s expansion and territory development.
Friel served as the national sales manager for AFG Residential Fabrication prior to joining Desert Glass Products.

Rogers Named GANA Marketing Committee Chair
The Glass Association of North America (GANA) has announced that Tracy G. Rogers of Edgetech IG will be serving as the chairperson of the insulating division marketing committee.
“I look forward to serving as the first insulating division marketing committee chairman,” said Rogers. “This committee has the important opportunity and task to structure our new division’s efforts from the ground up. I welcome all participants and their ideas to the table as we endeavor to make this division a tremendous success.”

Rogers has more than 17 years experience in the fenestration industry in both technical and sales/marketing fields, predominantly with component and service providers. He has previously served as director of sales and marketing with the Amesbury Group-Foam-Tite Division; general manager of ETC Laboratories; research and development manager for the Peachtree Companies; and business development manager for Intertek Testing Services. Currently he serves as a regional sales manager and industry technical representative for Edgetech IG.

Indiana Association Names Award Recipients
The Indiana Glass Association (IGA) has awarded the 2004 JoAn Hall A Cut Above Awards to Peggy Georgi and Oldcastle Glass. The JoAn Hall A Cut Above Awards Program was created in 1997 as a way to recognize one individual and one company for their contributions to the IGA.

Georgi, the individual award recipient, is a former executive director and writer. She was recognized for her dedication and commitment to the IGA. Having served as the association’s executive director for seven years, Georgi stepped down from the position last year.

The corporate award was given to Oldcastle Glass – Indianapolis for its ongoing support and contributions to the IGA.

In addition, Michele Parker was presented a special award in recognition of her contributions to the IGA throughout her five-year tenure.

Erie Announces New Reps 
Located in Blenheim, Ontario, Erie Architectural Products Inc. has announced Ted Wantuck, of the Statre Corp., will be its representative in the Michigan-Ohio area. Wantuck will be co-representing Erie in Ohio along with sales representative Greg Josefowicz of Burco Associates.

Chen Recognized by Alliance for Small Contractors
The New York area’s Regional Alliance for Small Contractors has named Thomas Chen, president of Crystal Window & Door Systems, as the association’s 2004 Specialty Supplier of the Year. The award recognizes leading minority and women entrepreneurs in their fields who have grown their businesses and significantly improved their companies’ competitive positions. This year’s award was presented at the Regional Alliance’s annual luncheon in October at the New York Hilton in Manhattan.

“I am humbled to receive this honor from the Regional Alliance and my peers in the construction industry,” said Chen. “Crystal has been involved with the Alliance for several years and we have definitely realized benefits from that relationship.”

Adams Rite Makes Organizational Changes 
Adams Rite Mfg. Co., a manufacturer of doors and door hardware products based in Pomona, Calif., has announced several organizational changes. 

Kevin Hamilton will become group director of its architectural hardware group (AHG). As group director, Hamilton’s responsibilities include the sales, marketing and business development of AHG. 

Dave Orban has been promoted to vice president of business development with responsibility for sales, marketing and related activities. 

Ron Gentern has been appointed Eastern sales manager with responsibility for sales in the domestic territory east of the Mississippi and Texas. 

In addition, Scott Sabatini has been promoted to manager, architectural specifications, with responsibilities for the entire specification process for the Rite Door, Adams Rite door hardware and Markar products.

Randall Boardman of Randall Boardman LLC is now representing Nana Wall Systems in Virginia … The International Code Council announced that it has elected directors to its board and appointed new officers at the organization’s recent annual conference. The new appointments include: Frank Hodge, president; Henry Green, vice president; and Wally Bailey, secretary/treasurer.
