DENSO Announces Senior Management Changes 
Tokyo-based DENSO Corp., parent company of Long Beach, Calif.-based DENSO Sales California, has announced the following management changes, which were voted upon at a recent shareholders meeting. New directors appointed to the board include:

Shinro Iwatsuki, executive vice president from senior managing director;

Oyuki Ogawa, executive vice president from senior managing director;

Mitsuharu Kato, senior managing director from managing officer;

Mineo Hanai, senior managing director from managing officer; and

Hiromi Tokuda, senior managing director from managing officer. 

New managing officers:

Sakae Kitazawa from senior manager of the engineering research and development center; 

Yoshitaka Asano from president of SIAM DENSO Manufacturing Co. Ltd.; 

Michio Adachi from general manager of the system control components engineering department; 

Tetsuo Kondo from general manager of the engine control components product division; 

Kenichiro Kamai from general manager of the vehicle integrated systems R&D department; and

Hiroyuki Wakabayashi from general manager of the quality control department; 

Board of director and managing officer retirements:

In addition, Norio Omori has been named executive vice president; Nobuhiro Miyake and Susumu Harada are now senior managing directors; Akitoshi Sugiura and Masayoshi Yagyu are now managing officers; and Shohei Itoh is the managing officer. 

New ACI Distribution Vice President Announced
Vitro America has announced that all ACI operations, ACI South and ACI West divisions, will become one single unit reporting to Charles Witherington, vice president of ACI Distribution. 

Witherington has been with the organization since 1980, and most-recently served as vice president of the ACI South Division.
Also, Rob Luke has been promoted to branch manager of ACI Distribution. Luke has worked in the glass industry for more than 14 years and served the ACI organization in various capacities since 1994.

O’Dowd Heads Mayflower’s Technical Advisory Group
Mayflower Sales Co. has appointed Brian O’Dowd manager of its newly-created technical advisory group. O’Dowd has been in the industry for three decades, and served as an employee of Mayflower for more than 20 years. 

He has been engaged in every aspect of security systems design and operation. 


SAFTI FIRST Names New Director of Strategic Alliances 
SAFTI FIRST, a San Francisco-based company, has named Renee Woodruff as director of strategic alliances. 

In her new position, Woodruff will help drive original equipment manufacturer sales, identify business opportunities, establish relationships with glazing contractors and architects and represent the company on projects commissioned by the U.S. General Services Administration and California’s Division of the State Architect. She will also attend industry-related trade shows and fulfill speaking engagements. 

Woodruff has 15 years of experience in the construction and building industry, and joined the company in June 2005 as Western regional sales manager. She is a licensed contractor, a prior owner of a fire-stopping company and currently presents SAFTI FIRST’s AIA-registered educational program to architectural and design-build firms across the United States.

Southeastern Aluminum Products Promotes Three
Jeff Dowd has been promoted to vice president of sales at Southeastern Aluminum Products Inc., headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla. Dowd was formerly the Western regional sales manager. 

Tom Jackson, Eastern regional sales manager, has been promoted to vice president of administration, a position in which he will be responsible for the customer’s customer service, technology, accounting and human resources departments.

John Wright, Jr., has been promoted from plant manager to vice president of manufacturing. He will be responsible for the manufacturing operations of both the Jacksonville, Fla., and Indianapolis, Ind., plants as well as the scheduling and engineering departments.


Crystal Windows Executive Honored by Business Group
James Hu, director of overseas development for Crystal Window & Door Systems of Flushing, N.Y., has been honored by the Asian-American Business Development Center (AABDC) as one of the 2006 “Outstanding 50 Asian-Americans in Business.” This award recognizes Asian-American businessmen and women who have made a difference in corporate America and highlights the contributions of Asian-Americans and Asian-American businesses to the economy.

Hu is responsible for the establishment of joint venture operations in China to serve the domestic Chinese construction markets. He joined Crystal Window & Door Systems in 1995.

Edgetech I.G.Welcomes Erika Harris 
Edgetech I.G. Inc. of Cambridge, Ohio, has expanded its marketing services capabilities and hired Erika Harris as graphic designer. She is responsible for the design and execution of a wide range of promotional media for the company and its customers. Harris was most recently a designer at Graphic Publications. Prior to that, she completed her internship with Graphic Arts Color Corp. in Pittsburgh.

Schroer Joins FTI as Technical Services Manager
St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Film Technologies International Inc. (FTI) has named Steven Schroer as its new technical services manager. Schroer will provide technical support for the sales and marketing department, act as a liaison to customers regarding product-related issues, develop technical reports and oversee industry-approved testing protocols.

Prelco Group Welcomes New Sales Consultant
The Prelco Group has hired Andrew James as architectural sales consultant for the Ontario region of Canada as well as representing Prelco for a select number of accounts.

James has more than nine years of experience in the glass industry, seven years as a territory sales manager with Guardian Industries and two years as an agent for several primary overseas glass manufacturers. 

Hickory Hardware Names Three Key Sales and Marketing Executives
Hickory Hardware™ of Portland, Tenn., has added three key executives to its sales and marketing team. Jon Valsvik has been named as first vice president of retail sales, and David Fields and Tina Payne Hunt as channel marketing managers.

Valsvik has more than 21 years of experience as the director of national accounts for Andersen® Windows, where he focused on the company’s Home Depot® relationship. Fields has recently served as senior research director of GfK, a global market research and consulting firm. 

Hunt has acquired ten years of experience in brand management at Newell Inc. and Fruit of the loom.
