Schiatti Angelo Aims for Automatic Arrissing
Italy-based Schiatti Angelo designed the new MS1532 to arris edges automatically on flat rectangular glass to obtain an even edge on thicknesses from 0.12 to 0.59 inches. The machine uses sensors to detect and record the glass dimensions, and then takes the resulting information to manage the movement of both the glass and the tools. That means no operator is needed to process a succession of lites of any shape and size.

VersaDrum™ Bulk Melters Deliver Precise Hot Melt Adhesive Application
Nordson Corp. in Duluth, Ga., has introduced its new line of VersaDrum™ bulk melters, designed for precise, demanding hot melt adhesive application from 200-liter or 55-gallon drums. The new, customizable line of bulk melters is particularly well suited for reactive adhesives, such as moisture-cure polyurethanes (PUR).VersaDrum bulk melters leverage a powerful industrial PC, which provides full control of the adhesive system via a touch-screen interface, displaying messages, warnings and indicators for each operator activity and machine status condition. Because they melt only the top surface of adhesive, VersaDrum bulk melters allow the remaining material in the drum to stay solid, reducing thermal stress and protecting bonding characteristics. Hydraulic passages are designed to eliminate dead spaces where undesired curing could result.

Take It Easy with 3C
Now available in the United States, the compact combined loader (3C) from APB srl in Italy was designed to ease glass handling. The patented device lifts glass lites from the orthogonal traverse storage system, unloads them and guides them to the cutting table.

JEB Creates New Expressions™

J.E. Berkowitz LP (JEB) in Pedricktown, N.J., now is licensed to fabricate DuPont’s® SentryGlas® Expressions™. Printed on a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer, SentryGlas Expressions allows fabricators to incorporate photo imagery, textures, patterns, company logos and other images into a wide range of architectural laminated glass applications. JEB now can perform both the printing and the lamination of the PVB decorative interlayers at its facility to provide a faster and more efficient response to customer demand than was previously possible. The fabricator says SentryGlas Expressions meets all ANSI Z97 specifications for safety glass and will be manufactured exclusively with PPG Starphire® low-iron glass.
