Sharda Glass Inc. of New Jersey Says it’s Unaffected by UK Sale
Amid reports that the United Kingdom (UK)-based Sharda Glass Ltd. recently was sold to CCPE Architectural Glass Ltd., officials at Sharda Glass Inc. in Glassboro, N.J., say they remain unaffected by the sale.

“Sharda Glass Inc., based in Glassboro N.J., is still operating as normal without any effect from the British company, with projects already completed and major projects in the process of production,” says Tony De Witt, managing partner of Sharda Glass Inc.

He adds, “With the existing and completed projects undertaken by Sharda Glass Inc., our full range of services originally provided in the UK can now be sourced in the U.S. with our long-term future established at our plant in Glassboro.”

The company’s U.S. operation is now a DuPont-certified laminator. According to De Witt, the certification was approved for a Philadelphia City Authority project where they will provide 90 No. panels for an all glass structure comprised of laminated glass panels 7- by 10-mm thick. The project will be constructed with Pilkington Optiwhite, DuPont Sentryplus interlayers and the panels will be 18-feet, 11 inches by 4-feet, 11-inches. Each panel will weigh 3,337 pounds upon completion. In addition, the panels have a stepped edge to interlock between the vertical walls and roof panels.
