The boards of directors of Building Envelope Software Technologies of
Toronto and Building Envelope Software Technologies of Denver (Best Cos.)
made several management changes.
Dan Andersen, formerly president and CEO, will become chairperson
of Building Envelope Software Technologies in Toronto. Barbara Andersen,
formerly vice president of operations, will become president and CEO of
the Best Cos. She also will retain her position as president and CEO of
Building Envelope Software Technologies in Denver.
In addition, the company hired O. Alan Hamilton to become vice president
of operations of the Best Cos. He has degrees in engineering and law,
as well as experience in corporate finance.
Josh Rudd also joined the company as general manager of sales. He
is located in Denver and has experience in the commercial glazing industry
as well as sales and marketing.
Virginia Mirror Company/Virginia Glass Products Inc. promoted Ben Beeler
to executive vice president of product development and new ventures.
He is a 30-year veteran of the company and will be responsible for adding
new product additions.
Mike Dishmon was named vice president of sales and marketing for
both companies. Since joining in 2011, he has been responsible for the
outside sales force; with this promotion, he will be responsible for the
inside sales team as well.
Reporting to Dishmon, Rodney Keats, director of customer service,
will have direct responsibility for the inside sales and estimating teams.
He has been with the company for 30 years and previously was responsible
for production and logistics for both companies.
L.W. Deal was named vice president of administration and will now
take on the additional responsibility of the accounting and finance departments.
In his new role, the accounts receivable, accounts payable and accounting
departments will report to him.
Jeff Lurges has been promoted as Azon’s new market development
specialist. Lurges is a ten-year veteran in market development with the
company and is responsible for communicating its thermal barrier technology
to window manufacturers.
Quanex Building Products promoted Vince Warne to director of technical
services. Warne is an industry veteran, previously working as part of
the Quanex Insulating Glass Systems team and serving in many roles, including
production supervisor, standard spacer business unit manager, operations
manager and process engineering manager.
Most recently, he served as director of quality for Quanex Insulating
Glass Systems where he worked in collaboration with the customer service,
quality and production teams to overcome specific product quality challenges
and enhance customer service levels.
In addition, Quanex named four people to new leadership positions, appointing
Larry Patterson to director of operations, Steve Wright
to logistics manager, Mike Smith to human resources manager and
John E. Bendel to tooling manager of the Richmond, Ky., window
and door profile facility.
Patterson joined Quanex in 2005 as the plant manager for the Richmond,
Ky., location. In 2006, he was promoted to vice president, operations.
He officially retired from Quanex in 2009 and since rejoined as the director
Wright, who will now manage operational performance, has more than 24
years of experience in logistics and operations management, with direct
experience supporting manufacturing logistics. He holds a Bachelor of
Science in organizational management and an Associate of Applied Science
in industrial management.
Smith has more than 10 years of experience in human resources. Most recently,
he was human resource manager for Joy Global. He holds a Bachelor of Science
in business management/human resources.
Bendel has more than 20 years of manufacturing experience in vinyl composite
profile extrusion, plastic injection molding and aerospace industries.
Previously, Bendel worked as a CAD/CAM designer for GKN Aerospace.
The Wagner Companies appointed David Chermak accounting manager.
He will be responsible for financial reporting and will oversee the business’s
Chermak spent 11 years as an accounting professional with corporations
such as US Bancorp, Penzeys, LTD and most recently Robert Half International.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance from the
University Wisconsin Whitewater, a master’s of accounting and finance
from Keller Graduate School and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
In addition, Dean Durow was appointed production control manager.
He has more than 25 years of experience in production planning, including
15 years at the West Bend Co., and most recently with Milk Specialties
in Adell, Wis.
Durow will serve as the master planner for company’s various production
lines and will also work with purchasing, sales and departmental supervisors
to coordinate on-time delivery to customers.
Yer Vang was appointed as a modeling engineer within the architectural
railings system division. Vang has more than 10 years of drawing, design
and CAD® experience and obtained his associate’s degree in industrial
model building from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in 1996. He
currently is enrolled in the mechanical engineering program at the University
of Wisconsin (Milwaukee).
Viracon named Connor O’Neill as its newest architectural sales
representative for the Midwest and Tyler Tennant for the West.
O’Neill, a LEED green associate, is a recent graduate of the University
of Maine where he studied economics and business administration. O’Neill
will cover Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
Tennant is a recent graduate of Minnesota State University with a degree
in marketing. In December 2013 he became a LEED green associate. He will
cover Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and Montana.
Jennifer Highfield is a new architectural design specialist and Marni
Windschitl was promoted to architectural design associate within the
Tubelite Inc. added Mike Peters and Kelly Townsend as client
development managers. Peters replaces Steve Seeling, who recently
retired, in serving clients in Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri. Townsend
assumes the responsibilities for clients in Oklahoma and northern Texas
from Don Walker, who recently retired.
Peters has nine years of experience owning and operating his own business
as an independent sales representative serving EFCO’s customers in Oklahoma
and Kansas. Previously he worked for companies such as EFCO and Vistawall
Architectural Products (now Oldcastle Building Envelope®).
Townsend draws from more than three decades of experience in the commercial
glazing and architectural products industries. He most recently worked
as a Wausau Window and Wall Systems’ Texas-based architectural sales representative.
Prior to that, he was the national sales director for Columbia Commercial
Building Products in Rockwall, Texas.
In addition, Jim McMahon joined as a client development manager.
He is based in Houston and worked previously for C.R. Laurence Co. Inc./U.S.
Aluminum as an architectural sales representative in the Houston, San
Antonio and Corpus Christi area.
Also, Tim Doughty is now the Southeastern regional sales manager
and Keith Hocutt joined as a client development manager with a
focus in Louisiana and Mississippi. With more than 30 years of industry
experience, Doughty will continue his role as client development manager
for clients in Georgia with the addition of managing the sales representative
of four other territories.
Hocutt is based in Mississippi and has nearly 15 years of experience in
the industry. He most recently worked at YKK AP America Inc. as an architectural
sales representative in the Southeast.
Centric Management and Consulting Inc., the Glass Association of North
America’s (GANA) for-profit subsidiary, elected its 2014-15 officers and
board of directors.
