Guardian Industries Plans Improvements in DeWitt, Iowa

The Guardian Industries float glass plant is gearing up for a major overhaul and upgrades. The company’s board of directors approved a capital project to repair the float glass furnace and expand glass production, pending approval of state and local incentives. The proposed project, expected to begin in the first quarter of 2017, would increase the plant’s production capacity, add new environmental control technologies and enhance products and services to support its customers.

Saint-Gobain Companies Celebrate New North American Headquarters; 350th Anniversary

Saint-Gobain officially opened its new North American corporate headquarters located in Malvern, Pa., on October 15. The 320,000-square-foot campus, situated on 65 acres, underwent a renovation over the past 18 months to become a showcase for Saint-Gobain and its North American construction materials subsidiary, CertainTeed Corp.

The opening was the exact day Saint-Gobain was founded 350 years ago by King Louis XIV of France to manufacture glass for the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles in Paris. The opening marks the culmination of a yearlong celebration commemorating Saint-Gobain’s 350th anniversary.

“Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed’s headquarters is designed to demonstrate the power our products have to improve the quality of people’s lives. It is a shining example of how innovative companies can design, construct and renovate sustainable, healthy, comfortable and environmentally friendly buildings around the world,” says John Crowe, president and CEO of Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Corp.

Also on October 15, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain held an open house in honor of Saint-Gobain’s 350-year anniversary. More than 40 people attended tours of the glass factory in Auburn, Wash.

Saint-Gobain celebrated the opening of its new North American headquarters located in Malvern, Pa., in October.

Neptun Recognizes Matodi During Vitrum

Neptun recognized Matodi for more than 100 machines sold.

“Started only four years ago from scratch, Matodi has reached this milestone thanks to the support of many repeat ‘Bavelloni family’ customers and the new relationships it has established,” says Jack Van Meerbeeck, president of Matodi. “This milestone, established during spring this year, has now been largely surpassed thanks to not only the support of this terrific customer base, but also the new vertical CNC solutions provided by Neptun.


Lauren Manufacturing Celebrates 50 Years

Lauren Manufacturing of New Philadelphia, Ohio, reached a landmark birthday in October—the maker of extruded and molded polymer sealing solutions turned 50.
Founded by Dale Foland in a garage in Garrettsville, Ohio, in 1965, Lauren has grown into a company with 500 employees and a global reach across many industries, including commercial and residential doors and windows.
Lauren Manufacturing’s plant in New Philadelphia, Ohio, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The company began in an Ohio garage.
