Finland’s Finest: Education
and Networking at GPD 2015

GPD Finland 2015 will bring glass experts together from around the world for education and networking.

More than 100 experts from as many companies will make presentations at Glass Performance Days (GPD) Finland 2015. The event, to be held in Tampere, Finland, June 23-26, will showcase more than 10 technical sessions covering the latest in glass technology. According to Jorma Vitkala, chairman of the organizing committee, the event’s theme this year is “Innovation-Business-Design.”

The sessions will cover a diverse range of topics, from glass processing to the use of glass in construction. Highlights in the glass-processing sessions will focus on advanced technologies in coatings, lamination, tempering and insulating glass units. A segment on glass in construction will cover structural applications and high-performance facades, as well as challenges and solutions in architecture.

“The set-up of the conference follows the usual pattern in the sense that the modular program offers opportunities for participants to select the combination of events most useful for their needs,” according to a GPD release. “What is unusual is the concentrated format of the conference to two days following the opening event, the unique selection of intensive special topic workshops and the opportunity to book individual meetings with other GPD participants …”

According to event organizers, “Based on feedback from earlier conferences, we have streamlined the program and made it a point to provide more information in less time-consuming ways. Our workshops take a practical approach to specific issues, and the increased interactivity of the entire conference is planned to serve the special needs of participants for both additional information and instant feedback.”

Registration for the 15th GPD is available on the event website, as well as the final program, which details the technical sessions, presentation topics and speakers.

GPD sessions allow participants to take part in various presentations specific to their own needs and interests.
