Arthur Geringer, Security Door Controls  
Electronic security and door hardware industry legend Arthur  
V. Geringer passed away in September at the age 93. Geringer  
pioneered the design and practical application of electrici-  
ty-to-door openings for security and fire and life safety.  
As the inventor of numerous electronic lock designs, he is  
credited with ushering in the modern era of access control hard-

He is survived by two sons, a daughter and 15 grandchildren and great  
grandchildren.
