New Year’s Resolutions

Every year, many of us make New Year’s resolutions. We say we’re going to eat less, exercise more, stop biting our nails, etc. And I don’t know about you guys, but around February 1, if I make it that long, my New Year’s resolutions start falling apart. Mine is always to exercise more, and I may do this—but I usually follow up my exercise with half a pint of ice cream and some pizza rolls; not exactly the way to a healthier life.

This year, though, I have a brand-new New Year’s resolution—and it has to do with the magazine you’re reading. I’m resolving to keep it revamped and even more alive throughout the year. Not that we haven’t done this in the past, but this year I’m making a special aim to keep it fresh and interesting and perhaps even a little more light-hearted in an effort to speak directly to you, the reader.

Hopefully you’ll notice this resolve in this issue, with its new look and new special sections. I invite you to take a look at “In the News”, for example—a personal favorite of mine. We send a daily e-mail newsletter to readers of one of our other publications and each day I search the web for news stories involving auto glass; and, almost daily, a few concerning window film pop up. Well, until now, there hasn’t been a good use for these stories—our news section has always been straight news about companies in the industry and it just didn’t work. But not now. Now, on the final page of this magazine, you can read about some of the funniest, scariest and wildest window film stories from across the world. And, as you see these in your own hometown newspapers, I invite you to send them in.

In addition to this new, fun section, our other changes include a whole section just for personnel changes, marriages, births, etc. I hope you’ll also take the time to send us your people news for this page.

Ever wonder what people in other cities are charging for window film applications? Well, for every future issue of Window Film, we plan to poll four shops in five different cities across the United States on prices for different applications on different vehicles. If there’s a particular vehicle you’re curious about, please write me and let me know so we can be sure to include it in a future issue.
