A New Look

Coming soon is a new look for the International Window Film Association (IWFA) web site: www.iwfa.com. Because of increasing consumer interest in window film, the IWFA is making its site more consumer user-friendly. The new entry page will offer the consumer information about the benefits of window film, product information on all types of window film—automotive, residential, safety, security and commercial—and window film terminology, as well as a locator service to find a dealer in his area with the “Dealer Locator.”

The web site will continue to be a resource for IWFA members. All legislative alerts about automotive window tint legislation pending since January 1, 2004, are located on our site, and the Accreditation Hall of Fame has been updated to include all of our accredited members. For those members who don’t know this fact: all IWFA member businesses are found on the “Find A Dealer,” which is one of the primary links on the new entry page for consumers. Member distributors will soon find their locations listed on the brand-new “Find a Distributor” part of the site.

… and a New Program
For accreditation as an Advanced Solar Control Specialist, the IWFA premiered its new Advanced Solar Control education manual in January 2004. This manual goes beyond the study of glass and window film to an advanced discussion of glass, window and door technologies as applicable to the use of solar control window film. Copies may be ordered through the IWFA office; please call 276/666-4932, or use the literature order form located on the web site.

All four accreditation programs were offered at the annual International Window Film Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, March 3-4, 2004; and the Advanced Solar Control Accreditation was offered for the first time. The IWFA is proud to announce that five of its members have already become Advanced Solar Control Specialists: Tom and Cindy Walter of Applied Window Films, Indian Harbor Beach, Fla; Jeff Zadach of ASAP of Savannah, Savannah, Ga; Ryan Smith of Southern Tinting, Monroe, Ga; and Spencer Robley of Johnson Laminating & Coating, Carson, Calif. Congratulations to these members for staying ahead of the curve.
